New projects by internationally recognized and local architects.

New homes create new ways of inhabitating Galician heritage.

New cultural buildings in the heart of historic towns as the Museum of Pilgrimage by the architect Manuel Gallego Jorreto in Plaza de Platerías in Santiago de Compostela.

The atlantic coast is the most populated area, however between the hundreds of villages, sandy beaches offer an extensive variety of landscapes.

Between seafronts

An unbeatable geographic location. An exposed peninsula into the Atlantic Ocean that towards the South defines a natural port, inhabited back from Roman times, while up to the North forms a huge white sanded beach. The city of A Coruña hosts, even today, prehistoric marks within the modern city.
The strength of the sea battens the unspoilt promontory where there was the 1st century lighthouse was and the Torre de Hércules stands lonely, in sharp contrast with the urbanity of the downtown areas, where still the sea has a permanent presence.

These centric and more urban areas host a wide number of quality examples of early-20th-century rationalist architecture, as well as several newly-made buildings. Among the most outstanding ones built in the last two decades, we can point out the Domus Casa del Hombre Museum, by the Japanese architect Arata Isozaki, or the Caixa Galicia Foundation by the british architect Nicholas Grimshaw.

As elsewhere in our region, nature, gastronomy and vernacular architecture complete the charm of any city tour.
